a slip of the tongue

Holly J was getting a bit bored with Declan. She thought she trusted him. The way he looked into her eyes. All so sweet. So generous. It was as if he wanted to give her the world. Or at least she thought. But was it true?

His sister was getting jealous. Jane was weird.

"I dunno what to do, Spin?" He was the only one she could turn too. And she didn't know what it was exactly, but that look he gave her. That little boy look, perhaps. The one she loved. The one she wanted to be her own. Next thing she knew, she spilled it about Jane and Declan.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Spinner was in shock.

"I'm sorry." HJ winced back tears.

"How can you stand to be with him! HOLLY J!" He shouted at her then. He threw in the towel for the day. No more work at the DOT for him. He'd lose it if he stayed another second. She supposed.

"WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?" She knew she'd done it this time. What if he hurt Declan? Worse yet, messed up that pretty face of his. She nursed her upper lip. "WAIT!?" She chased after him. She couldn't let him do it. There was only one way she could think how he could get back at both of them. And she didn't want it to be a fight.
